How to Create Blendspace
The third Web 2.0 tools that I want to introduce to you is Blendspace. Formerly, it known as Edcanvas.
Blendspace is a connected space where students and adults can organize, present and share information. It is a quick method to blend all materials needed from all over the websites into one lesson. Presentation can be gathered and shared easily by dragging and dropping images, movies, maps, audio and text and embedding hyperlinks onto a blank canvas.
💙Let's take a look on the features of Blendspace.
- Very interesting tools because it with blended sources, colorful and creative designs.
- Sign up or log in can also be made via Facebook or Google account and the canvas can be shared on social media network.
- Blendspace have two features, one for students and the other one for teachers.
- Materials can be choose from various sources.
- This tool did not require students to sign in, so even low level students could easily access the lesson.
💥💥Blendspace Free for teachers offers unlimited classes, up to 35 students per class, and up to 100 active lessons.
💙There are a lots of benefits of using Blendspace in the process of teaching and learning:
- Students were very engaged and were able to work independently to use the tools.
- Students really appreciated being able to go at their own pace and choose what they wanted to spend their time on.
- Students understood the concepts much better by utilizing these online resources.
- Students were able to access the resources outside of class. Students who were absent were able to complete assignments on their own and students were also able to use the resources for their own interests.
Teachers also get benefit as:
- Get the students to do their revision and quizzes anywhere and anytime.
- Can identify students' performance regarding that certain subjects since there are quizzes provided.
- Teachers can provide various learning material that cannot be access in the class.
STEP 1: Making Blendspace account.
You need to fill the things that required on the page and click 'register'. You can also joins by using Facebook or Google account.

STEP 2: Enter the class name and grade level for the students.
Make it easier for students to choose the topic that they want to learn. Click on the green button 'create class'.
STEP 3: Then, you can search for the keyword that best describe your topic.
It will give various choices of material that available on the internet including videos on YouTube.
STEP 4: You can just simply drag and drop the material that you want to use into the empty canvas.
STEP 5: You can also add quizzes.
Create the suitable question and gives a few of answer choices. You can select the correct answer for that question, therefore, when students answered the question, they will know if the answer is correct or wrong.
STEP 6: Share your material on the social media such as Facebook, by clicking the green button on the upper part of the page.
Other people can access to your 'class' by simply click the link.
